Well, we've all heard many grumbles about people not being able to check whether they have new voicemails while in a conference. You have to leave a conference to see whether you have new mail or not. And sometimes a conference is full when you try to go back. Or you end up annoying people when you leave a zillion times. So, I propose that voicemail notifications be implemented into conferencing. Now, this could be done in one of two ways.
a. You hear a random 'You have new voicemail' message while chatting. Meaning Chris N all of a sudden pops out of nowhere telling you that you have new voicemail.
I like this idea, but I'm not sure I like someone popping up out of nowhere. The message could either startle someone or cloud out everyone else in the conference for a few seconds. Thus why I propose alternative b.
b. A user could press something like *5 or *8 and be told whether they have voicemails waiting or not.
Well, those are my thoughts on the matter. let's hear yours.
I'm almost positive this couldn't be implimented because of the same reasons my paging idea couldn't that I coughed up a while back, though I don't remember the exact details of why that didn't work.

such athing probbly could be done I think. i meen it could not be any harder or anymore complecated to do then thehole phone system was to create. though its up to the how ever in charge of doing the programming of it if they want to do such a thing or not.

Hmmmm I can see that being useful, maybe it would be hard but there has to be some way that could be done! Of course, you can be on the site and find out if you have vm's or not, but I think the idea is rather nice!
i like that idea, it would be very useful if your not able to check the site and couldn't there be a way to see who it is from like when you press 7 in the menue of voice mail and you find who sent it? or maybe a better idea would be to post that on the link that says how many voice mails you have on the site? just a rough idea its late here, please excuse my writing
not sure if it could work. it sounds like a good idea, but it just seems hard for someone to code.
Why not have a Pipeline-like system where it pops up, and while the notification is playing you can hit a key to hear your message? Why not also be able to hit a button, see the list of people on the system, and be able to hit 5 on them? You could have something like whispers.
I'm sure that if they could code it, it would work perfectly. It seems difficult, but I'm almost sure that could happen.
